Industrial-grade sodium bicarbonate finds diverse applications. In water treatment, it adjusts pH levels and helps precipitate heavy metals. As a chemical raw material, it's used to produce sodium carbonate, other sodium compounds, and detergents. In fire safety, it's a key component in dry chemical extinguishers, releasing CO2 to smother flames. It aids metal processing by removing oils or rust from surfaces. In pharmaceuticals, it serves as an intermediate. It also acts as a foaming agent in rubber and plastics, and regulates soil pH in agriculture or as a feed additive.

Features:

• Physical properties: It appears as a white crystalline powder with a slightly salty taste and no distinct odor. It is moderately soluble in water, with lower solubility than sodium carbonate, and forms a weakly alkaline solution when dissolved.
   
• Chemical reactivity: When reacting with acids, it releases carbon dioxide gas. Upon heating, it decomposes into sodium carbonate, water, and carbon dioxide.
