Product Description

Tributyrin:

Tributyrin is a short chain fatty acid ester. It appears as a colorless to pale yellow oily liquid, almost odorless with a faint fatty aroma. It is insoluble in water but highly soluble in ethanol, chloroform, and ether, and remains stable under normal conditions. In the digestive system, it does not decompose in gastric juice; instead, it is broken down into butyric acid and glycerol by pancreatic lipase.

Liquid tributyrin acts as a targeted energy source in feed, releasing butyric acid in the lower gut to nourish intestinal epithelial cells, enhancing barrier function and reducing pathogen colonization in poultry.
